** Three hours of general education basic skills are satisfied by the requirements in Mathematics. Three hours of general education electives are satisfied by the required programming course in Computer Science.

Major (Mathematics) Core Requirements (46 hours)
or A computer programming course approved by the mathematics department

*** Electives must be chosen from three or more different areas, as listed below for the Bachelor of Science degree, one of these must be MATH 613 Abstract Algebra or MATH 557 Analysis I. At least two electives must be chosen from the Basic Theoretical Mathematics area. A course may not be counted as both an elective and a major core course.

An appropriate minor is required. The degree requirements for a B.A. major in mathematics requires a minimum of 124 semester hours.
